Apple TV’s new sports comedy series Stick, starring Owen Wilson, will be released in June 2025. Recently, the streaming platform released the trailer of this much-awaited sports series, and fans are loving it.

Created by Jason Keller, the writer of various acclaimed films, including Ford v. Ferrari and Machine Gun Preacher, its story centres around a former professional golf player, Pryce Cahill (played by Owen Wilson). He had to leave the game due to some unfortunate reasons, and now he is raising a young guy to become the next big star in golf.

Alongside Owen Wilson, the series cast Peter Dager, Mariana Trevino, Marc Maron, Lilli Kay, and others in prominent roles.

In the opening scene, the trailer shows Cahill sitting at a bar when he is recognised by Mitts (played by Marc Maron). Recognising Cahill, Mitts began to narrate the story of his downfall to the entire bar, including the time he had a breakdown during a tournament. He jokingly mocks Cahill and tells him, “Bet you can’t look at a golf club after a train wreck like that, right?"

The scene then moves to a montage to depict the life of Cahill, where he is seen reflecting on the events that have led to this fate. These scenes tap into various past events in Cahill’s life, including his divorce and his struggle to cope with everything that has happened.

The montage also shows the audience Mitts giving a pep talk to Cahill and scenes of him teaching golf to seniors, when he is stopped by the crisp sound of a well-hit ball. Upon searching for the person, Cahill met Santi Wheeler (played by Peter Dager) and convinced his mother to let him coach her son for the US amateur championship. The anticipation gets high as Cahill tries to coach Wheeler to become the next big star in golf.

This 10-episode sports comedy series will be available to stream from June 4, and the final episode will drop on July 23.
