Mumbai Metro Underground Aqua Line To Extend From Aarey, BKC Up To Worli Naka From May 10

What Is Mumbai Metro Line 3?
Metro Line 3 is Mumbai’s first fully underground metro line. The newly launched 22 km section connects busy areas like:
- Dharavi
- Sitaladevi
- Dadar
- Siddhivinayak
- Worli
- Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC)
Once the entire 33.5 km corridor is completed, it will run from Aarey Depot in the north to Cuffe Parade in South Mumbai, covering 27 stations including Mumbai Central, CSMT, and Churchgate.
A Peek Inside the Stations
Ahead of the launch, Mumbai Metro 3 shared first-look photos of key stations like Worli, Dadar, Siddhivinayak, and Acharya Atre Chowk. The latter sits in one of Mumbai’s busiest zones and was built with careful planning around traffic and utility lines.

Station Features Include:
- Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) gates for faster entry and exit
- Lifts and wide staircases for senior citizens and passengers with luggage
- Bright, clean interiors offering a world-class metro experience.
What’s Already Running?
Earlier this year, Mumbai Metro Line 3 launched its Phase 1, which runs 12.69 km with 10 stations, connecting Aarey to BKC. It made a huge difference to commuters by cutting travel time from over an hour to just 30 minutes.
The metro operates 96 daily trips, from 6:30 am to 10:30 pm, with ticket prices ranging from Rs 10 to Rs 50.
What’s Next? Colaba by 2025
While the Aarey to Worli section is now ready, the final stretch to Colaba is expected to open by the end of 2025, completing the entire Metro-3 corridor, as per Mid-day.
