Lovers of Joseon: Shim Hyun-Seop Tries Hard To Trace Lee Byung-Hun Ahead Of His Wedding
The latest episode of the documentary show revealed Shim Hyun-Seop’s efforts to track down Lee Byung-Hun and invite him to be the host at his upcoming wedding.
The latest episode of the documentary entertainment show, Lovers of Joseon, saw comedian Shim Hyun-seop connecting with Lee Byung-hun‘s decades-old friend. Previously, Shim Hyun-seop spoke about Lee Byung-hun’s high school promise of being his “wedding host," only to find himself struggling to find Lee Byung-hun ahead of his wedding with Jung Young-rim. As the episode progresses, Shim Hyun-seop and his friend Lee Chun-soo will be seen making every possible effort to track Lee Byung-hun.
During the episode, Lee Chun-soo reveals that a hair stylist at the salon has a 20-year connection with Lee Byung-hun, leading the duo to meet the salon director and bag their final card to secure Lee Byung-hun’s social engagement as planned. Upon meeting the director, they not only confirmed Lee Byung-hun’s contact number but also discovered that the number was old and that they had been out of touch for nine years.

The episode fast-forwards to three weeks before the wedding, when Shim Hyun-seop brings up the “last hidden card," referring to actor Kim Jung-kyun, who was a fellow talent from their rookie days. Kim Jung-kyun also shares a 30-year connection with Lee Byung-hun, with one of his friends claiming, “I raised him."
As Shim Hyun-seop once again spoke about Lee Byung-hun’s promise, the actor continued, “Byung-hun knows his personality. He worked with me on dramas for three years when we were rookies. He is a friend who makes a lot of promises about the future." He also assured that Byung-hun is someone who believes in keeping his promises and is not someone who makes worthless promises.
Shim visited Byung-hun’s filming site, where he waited for a long time and announced, “I’m getting married on April 20th," to which the actor replied, “Where do you do it?" As promised, Lee Byung-hun indeed made it to the wedding as a host, leaving Shim Hyun-seop overwhelmed as he shed tears, saying, “It’s like a real dream."
