Operation Sindoor Live Updates: Pakistan launched a barrage of artillery fire, drone, and missile attacks on multiple locations in Jammu, including a key airstrip, just a day after India conducted strikes against terror hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

According to the security agencies, several missiles were launched from Pakistan. All were successfully intercepted by India’s S-400 air defence system.

India swarmed Islamabad, Lahore and Rawalpindi with drones, launching multiple retaliatory strikes and forces shot down an F-16 fighter jet in Rajasthan in an effective response to Pakistan’s unprovoked attack in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Rajasthan.

Earlier in the day, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri rejected Pakistan’s claims that civilians and religious sites were targeted during India’s precision strikes under Operation Sindoor.

India launched “precision strikes” under Operation Sindoor on nine terror targets in Pakistan and PoK following the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians. The strikes killed at least 10 family members of JeM chief Masood Azhar and four close aides. In retaliation, Pakistan shelled J&K’s Poonch, killing 16 and injuring over 50. India slammed Pakistan for giving ‘state funerals’ to terrorists, saying it doesn’t make sense to honour those eliminated in such operations.

Operation Sindoor Live Updates: Pakistan Defence Minister Comes Up With Bizarre Excuse

In another offbeat remark, Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif on Friday again stroked a controversy after he claimed that the Pakistani Army purposely did not intercept the Indian drones as their retaliation would have given away the defence positions to the Indian forces.

The minister’s comments came in reference to Pakistan’s Thursday defeat, following India’s remarkable response. New Delhi, on May 8, successfully neutralised the 35-minute-long hostilities launched by Islamabad to avenge New Delhi’s attack on nine terror camps.

Men and machines of the armed forces worked meticulously to ensure the interception of Kamikaze drones and missiles fired by Pakistani troops targeting Jammu, drawing widespread appreciation from people.

India on Thursday night swiftly thwarted Pakistan’s fresh attempts to strike military sites with drones and missiles, including in Jammu and Pathankot, after foiling similar bids at 15 locations across the country’s northern and western regions, amid a military conflict between the two neighbours.

Looking after the operational area of Jammu under the command of the 9 Corps, the 26 Infantry Division, nicknamed the “Tiger Division”, had put in place a robust air-defence system, virtually carving out an Israel-type Iron Dome to protect Jammu from a Hamas-style attack by Pakistan.
