John Cena Predicts Dominik Mysterio Will Surpass His Father After Intercontinental Title Win
John Cena has backed Dominik to climb greater heights than Hall Of Famer senior Mysterio.
Wrestler John Cena predicted big things for new WWE star Dominik Mysterio as he emerged triumphant over Bron Breakker, Penta and Finn Balor in his maiden singles championship and won the Intercontinental Championship for the first time in his career at WrestleMania.
Following his father Rey Mysterio’s footsteps, ‘Dirty’ Dom signalled the arrival of a new era and promised WWE fans he would finish his career as the most famous Mysterio in the family. Cena, the WWE giant, agreed with the sentiment and backed Dominik to climb greater heights than Hall Of Famer senior Mysterio.

‘Dom Mysterio is born for this. Period,’ Cena said while appearing on The Pat McAfee Show. ‘I got to work with him very early in his career and I’ve had the chance to work with experienced talent and also the chance to work with a lot of new talent.’
‘You can tell right away, that there are always late arrivals and people can not get it, and then figure it out, I’m a living example of that. There are also those people…I remember Randy Orton making everything look so easy.’
‘Dom just makes everything effortless. He doesn’t crack under pressure. Any pool we’ve dropped him in, he has not only treaded water, but he’s swimming laps around everyone else. Dom Mysterio, we aren’t even close to what that kid is capable of. He’s incredible, and he’s going to be incredible for the next 20 years or as long as he wants to be in this business. He will be, and I love his dad [Rey Mysterio], he will be the most famous Mysterio.’
Mysterio’s Intercontinental Championship was another result at WrestleMania 41, where Cena famously defeated Cody Rhodes to become a record 17-time World Champion. Cena celebrated his crown while appearing on Raw after Mania and also reminded his fans that his days in the ring are coming to a close, having earlier announced a retirement tour.
