With the BCCI reportedly deliberating over the fate of the IPL 2025 season currently, let's peruse what we do know about the state of cash-rich league.

Amid the heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, cricket in the subcontinent came to a standstill, as the Indian Premier League was met with an abrupt halt last night in Dharamshala.
On Thursday, Pakistan launched aerial attacks on Jammu as well as several military stations near the western border, which were successfully foiled by India’s air defence systems.

The attempted strike, involving drones and missiles, triggered blackouts and sirens across several areas in Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, and Rajasthan.
Emergency protocols were activated all over, including Dharamshala, where the IPL 2025 match between PBKS and DC was suspended midway (10.2 overs into the match, to be precise), due to a reported blackout (following air raid alerts in neighbouring cities of Jammu and Pathankot).
Player (and spectator) safety has been prioritized, and the blackout last night has cast a shadow over the proceedings of the remainder of the IPL 2025 season.

What Are The Potential Outcomes For IPL 2025 Now?
As of Thursday night, there had been no official announcement on the future of the IPL 2025 season.

Possible outcomes include the IPL being terminated effectively, or having its resumption postponed to a later date, or having the rest of the season be played out in a different country like the UAE.
What About Tonight’s Game?
As mentioned above, the course of action for the IPL remains unknown, as of now. But, since no official statement has been released saying otherwise, it can be assumed that the IPL will possibly resume as per the initial schedule.
This means that Match 59 of the IPL 2025 season, scheduled to take place between the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, shall take place as previously planned.
