Pratika Rawal etched a record, becoming the fastest cricketer to 500 runs in Women’s ODIs.

India women’s opener bagged the milestone during her innings in the 2nd ODI of the ongoing tri-series.

Facing off against South Africa, Rawal played a solid knock of 78 in 91 deliveries in India’s close-fought win.

During her innings, the right-hander broke the record set by England’s Charlotte Edwards.

The former England stalwart became the quickest to reach 500 ODI runs in women’s cricket in 1997.

Rawal broke the record Edwards held for nearly three decades, pushing her to the second spot with 9 games.

The 24-year-old rising star now has 617 runs in just eight innings in One-Day Internationals for India.

Below Rawal and Edwards on the list is Scotland’s Kathryn Bryce, who reached 500 runs in 10 ODIs.

Australian Nicole Bolton and Thailand’s Natthakan Chantham hold the joint fourth spot with 11 matches.

Belinda Clarke, the former Australian player, is fifth with her first 500 runs arriving in 12 ODIs.
