Housefull 5 Director Tarun Mansukhani Praises Abhishek Bachchan’s Comedy: ‘He Is Very Underrated’

Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, and Riteish Deshmukh starrer Housefull 5 is all set for release on June 6. The film is the fifth installment of the same franchise. Well, recently in conversation with The Free Press Journal, director Tarun Mansukhani heaped praise on actor Abhishek Bachchan for his comic sense. He called him “very underrated" in the genre.
When asked about Abhishek’s comic timing was a hit when films like Dostana and Happy New Year released? He said, “Definitely it is. Not only is his sense of humour dry like mine but we both love physical comedy as well. He is very underrated in comedy and I hope more writers and directors cast him in comedies."

Talking about rough weather during shoot, the director replied, “Absolutely. It was new terrain for everyone. We faced rough weather and stormy seas on some days where members of the crew got sea sick. But more than that, we didn’t anticipate that people would get lost walking around the ship. On one particular day we were shooting at the front end of the ship and I ended up at the back of the ship wondering where the crew was."

The Housefull madness began in 2010, with Sajid Khan calling the shots for the first film — and again for Housefull 2 in 2012. By the time Housefull 3 rolled around in 2016, the directorial baton had passed to Sajid-Farhad. Then came Housefull 4 in 2019, helmed by Farhad Samji, continuing the franchise’s over-the-top chaos and comedy legacy.
